What should every frugal gourmet cook have in his or her kitchen? All of us simple frugal gourmets have a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, sink, cupboards and sometimes a pantry.

Look in your pantry. What you have there likely tells a lot about you and your family. Basically those cupboards and refrigerators will tell about your likes and dislikes and how healthy you eat.

It’s time to be creative to choose some fine, simple, frugal meals.

We need to start with the basics, however. In every cupboard or fridge we need to have some staples. A staple is something that is in constant demand - something that we always need so we can make a meal in a pinch.
